Athens Account Information

What is Athens?

An Athens account is used to access subscribed Library resources when NOT connected to the Local Area Network (LAN). If you're using a computer connected to the network you do not need an Athens account. A personal Athens account also links with Browzine, where users can create a personal bookshelf of favorite journals for easier access. 

  • Click to register for an account. Be sure to select Tripler Army Medical Center (TAMC) as your organization. 
  • Once your account is active you can use your logon to access resources directly at the vendor's site or visit the Tripler Library Open Athens page to see a list of resources that are available with your logon. 

Browzine

What is Browzine?

Browzine is an easy way to track and read your favorite medical journals on a personal device or computer.  Browzine works hand in hand with a MyAthens account, allowing users to read full text journals. 

  • Watch the Tutorial Video
  • Search or browse by medical specialty using Browzine Bookcase
  • Save articles on a mobile device to read later, even when offline.
  • Get alerts when new journals are published.
  • Browzine does not include a function for searching topics within journals.

Using Browzine

NOTE: A MyAthens account is required for Browzine when not connected to the local network.

  1. Download the Browzine app for Apple, Android, or Kindle Tablet.
  2. Click Settings on the toolbar at the bottom of the screen, search and select Tripler Army Medical Center
  3. At the prompt, enter your MyAthens login information.
